Wayne C. Currie
Head Coach

When Dracut High School wanted to continue to develop it girl's soccer program in 1996, the administration turned to a proven winner to cultivate a championship program. In his four years at the helm of the Middies soccer program, Head Coach Wayne Currie has put together a program that has consistently been ranked among the best in the Merrimack Valley Conference. No Dracut team under his supervision has finished a season with less than 8 wins. All together, Currie has a combined record of 99-26-3 (.785).

Currie guided the Middies to a 11-5-3 record in his first season, and that team won the first ever soccer league title for the school. In the process Currie earned MVC Coach of the year honors, his sixth in his high school coaching career. Currie followed that up the next year with another league title and another coach of the year award.

Before coming to Dracut High School, Currie served as head coach for both King Phillip Regional High School and Mansfield High School. In Currie's last season with King Phillip Regional, they were ranked 5th in the State.

Currie also serves as Head Coach for the Charles River United Soccer Association U12 Girls Soccer Team. Currie is a member of both the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and the United States Soccer Coaches Program. In addition, he holds an NSCAA Advanced National Coaching diploma and a USSF B coaching license.

In addition, Currie also holds certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, International Sport Science Associaiton and holds a Level II certification in Sprinting from the United States Track and Field Association. Currie currently works as the Fitness Program Manager for the Boston Sports Club in Danvers.

A native of Jamaica, West Indies, Currie was raised in the New York area, where he played for the powerful Massapegua Soccer Club Program. Currie also played football, wrestled and ran track at Beach Channel High School. Following high school, he continued his soccer and track career at Northeastern University. After graduation, he briefly played semi-professional soccer for two years as a reserve member of the Taunton Sports Eagles.

Currie received his B.S. from Northeastern University in 1988 and his master's degree from University of Massachusetts in 1990. Currie is married to the former Tiffany Rollins.
