Dracut and Notre Dame Tie 0 - 0

October 18, 2001

DRACUT, MA. - The Dracut High School Girls Soccer team and Notre Dame Academy played to a 0 - 0 tie on Thursday afternoon. With the tie the Middies qualify for the State Tournament.

The Middies could not get their offense in gear and Notre Dame could not get pass Keeper Anthony. Dracut best chance to score came when senior forward Viviana Martell hit the post in the second half.

"Two things happen today. One we were emotionally drained from the Chelmsford game and Notre Dame played a spirited game," said Head Coach Wayne Currie.

The Middies outshot the Lancers 15 - 5, and outcornered them 4 - 0.

Goal Keeper Michaela Anthony earned her fourth shutout of the season.

The Middies will return to action Saturday when they travel to Methuen. Competition is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. due to the PSAT.
