Now on to the States


One mission is completed, but there’s still one to go for the girls soccer team that wrapped up the regular season last Saturday with a 0 - 0 tie against Newburyport. The Middies compiled a 8-5-5 record overall 6-4-3 MVC.

The Middies now move on to the State Tournament were they were selected as the 14th seeded team. They will play the number 3 seeded Danvers Falcons on Saturday, November 3 at 4:00 PM at Deering Stadium.

Danvers was 17 - 0 - 1 during the regular season and captured the Northeastern Conference title for the second year in a row. This was their fifth title in the school's history.

Danvers is a senior laden team with 12 seniors on their roster. They are led by Boston University bound Lindsay Williamson who scored 16 goals with 9 assist this year. Teammate senior Stephanie Anastopoulos however lead the NEC with 18 goals and 12 assists.

Other standouts for the Falcons includes Becky Macdonald, Missy Jackman, Kate Gamer, Nicole Theberge, Hayley Kornachuk and defender Jenna Morse.

Senior Goal Keeper Janelle Buckley has been spectacular in goal for the Falcons all season. She has allowed only 9 goals during the 18 games that she played. She led the NEC in goal against.

This will marked the first meeting ever between the two schools.
